It was the Newberg Tigers vs Tualatin Tigers on the THS track last week. Cassie ran the 1500 and the 4x400 relay. In the photo above, she is finishing a very close 1500 race with her teammate Tali. Cassie couldn't quite get the right position to edge Tali out at the line, so she came in a close 3rd; Tualatin took 1st. Cassie PR'd with a 5:11!
Cassie ran anchor on the 4x400 relay. In this photo, she had just received the last hand-off. Watch how she hunts the Tualatin runner down.

Last 100 meter stretch. Yep, start cryin'!

Easy finish. : ) Cassie's relay team came in 2nd.

Over the weekend, Cassie traveled with the NHS varsity track team to the 46th Annual Centennial Invitational in Gresham. This was a huge meet with about 980 athletes representing 56 schools from all over the Northwest. Cassie ran the 800 in 2:27.78; PR'd by over 3 seconds! She finished 21st overall. She also ran the third leg of the 4x400 relay and their team PR'd with a time of 4:20.59; good enough for 17th place.
