A Week of a Lifetime!

The camp leaders! I am in the front row, 5th from the left.
This past week was our stake girls camp! For those of you who didn't know, I was the stake camp director; this was my first year in the calling. We went to Camp Alpine which is about 15 miles southwest of Corvallis. The camp is owned by the church and an LDS couple live on the property and are the caretakers as a church mission. They have been doing it for 4 years. The camp was WONDERFUL! We loved it so much and made our reservations for next year's girls camp already!

Cassie the archer! Her team took 1st place in archery this year!
Cassie was a 3rd year at camp. She enjoyed being with the girls from the stake and playing all week. Her favorite part of camp was being with old friends & making new ones.

Here is our ward: Newberg 2nd! Cassie is standing up in back/middle.

A view from the top of the zip line into the pond. We had perfect weather all week. It drizzled the first morning of camp, but it helped settle the dust. Only one day of full-sun; not too hot. The other days it stayed mostly over-cast & in the 80's.

Here is a view of the stage. Cassie & our ward are performing their skit. Check out my cute camp signs on the wall. : ) Our theme was "i am" with a Native American flavor, and we used the circle logo from the yw camp link on the church website. The 4 focus themes for each day were: identity, spirit, preparation, covenant.
More pictures & news to come!
