Our lovely Spring Break '07 ended with a nice visit to Gig Harbor, WA to see G&G Beecher. Moving to Portland has put us within a 3 hour drive to their house. It makes it easy to make quick trips up there & back.
We were hoping to get all the little Beecher cousins together. (Chris' brothers Matt & Tim both live up in Tacoma.)
Earlier in the week, Matt's wife Honor gave birth to baby girl #4 three weeks early. Tim's family caught the flu & Chris' mom came down with something as well. So, our plans changed up a bit & we cut our visit short. We still had a wonderful time & got to do some neat things like touring the office Kathy & Wally work at on the Naval base, catching crabs, watching movies, building Legos, creating marble mazes, playing at the park, eating yummy food, seeing the "girl" cousins, visiting with Uncle Matt, riding bikes, and just being able to spend time with Kathy & Wally. We were able to watch 75% of General Conference. Chris & his dad went to the Priesthood session together last night. It was a relaxing weekend.
I was sad to see my '07 NCAA basketball bracket blow up prematurely yesterday with UCLA's loss to Florida. For all my friends out there who know the history of my family's little tournament will be interested to know that my niece Crystal won this year.
A funny thing happened to me today.
You know you are getting old when you get April Fooled.
Jens & Kristin's family spent the last few days skiing in Utah. There is a possibility they will be moving out there this summer. Kristin texted messaged me today that they bought a big house worth big money while in Utah. I TOTALLY fell for it! The whole family was sitting around me when I got her message. My reaction was very surprised & excited! The kids started asking how many hours it takes to drive to Utah from here. Chris started looking for bike rides to do with Jens in the SLC area. Basically, we started making plans to vicariously move to Utah. Well, moments later the next text message came...."btw, happy april fools." Those Dunfords & their tricks!!!
Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying your Spring flings. We miss & love you all.
