I believe Tigard won the coin toss & opted for defense first. So, we got the ball on the 25. Our first play was a failed pass. Are you SERIOUS??? As Chris put it, you don't buck the horse that rode you to the success you did have during the season! RUNNING the ball is what we did best. WHY did they call a pass play right off the bat? Still scratching our heads on that one.
The second play was what appeared to be a fumbled snap or QB got stripped right after snap. Tigard recovered.
I think that all took like 4 minutes.
It was a frustrating evening leading up to the actual game. The game was in Oregon City, which is about a 30 minute drive (with no traffic & hitting every light) from Newberg. We had to be at the stadium by 6:30pm. We left the house with ample time to stop & grab some Panda for Craig's dinner. When we were on the freeway, 2 exits away from the stadium, Craig started crying. Chris asked him whats wrong. He immediately started apologizing because he had FORGOTTEN HIS HELMET at home! So, we quickly figured out what to do. Chris dropped Craig & I at the the stadium. It was 6:15pm at that point. Chris drove all the way back to Newberg to get the helmet. He arrived back at the stadium with the helmet at 7:20 & Craig's team took the field 10 minutes later. All that for a quick loss was pretty hard to take. But, it is what it is. Chalk it up to one of those great moments in being a parent who will do anything for their kid, through the good & the bad; through 4 quarters or 4 minutes of football.

I bet you wanted to tear his head off...that way there would be no need for a helmet :)
